When we set out to create our candles, we didn’t just want to make any candle. We wanted to create a socially- and environmentally-responsible product. In an ongoing journey that took many months to perfect, WOO sourced, tested and revised our design which resulted in a luxury candle of an elite standard.

The Lucky Candle is encased in a gorgeous, upcycled glass. To make these vessels, we organize street teams to collect discarded bottles. After sorting, another team of artisans cleans, cuts and refines the bottles – skills they learned from WOO-coordinated, specialized workshops. The bottles are then sandblasted with the iconic WOO logo by hand.
To source beeswax for our candles, WOO works directly with associations of local farmers in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Our beeswax is melted and filtered with the utmost care so as not to damage the structure of the wax. For optimal burn time and performance, we blend our beeswax with other sustainably-sourced vegetable waxes.
Unlike paraffin blends, natural beeswax burns cleanly – without soot.
We know that the secret to the success of Lucky Candles do not only lie in the premium quality of production and paraffin-free beeswax. The lingering fragrance of our candles should also leave an indelible mark. To develop WOO’s four signature scents, we partnered with a leading European perfumer who created an exclusive, exotic range of notes and bouquets that add ambience and atmosphere to any space.
The best wicks in the world are made in Germany, so we travelled there and found the ones that suit Lucky Candles best. With the fine, handmade cotton wicks we chose, our largest candle has the ability to burn for up to a seemingly endless 90 hours.
Know your wicks: burning candles with lead-cored wicks is now known to cause lead poisoning.
NOT JUST A CANDLE
The journey of the candle does not expire at the end of the wick. When the light fades, a lucky coin emerges. Sharing light, love, and a little bit of luck!
